Royall @ Ellerslie 2012

Tim Royall recently worked with renowned landscape and garden designer Xanthe White to produce a sculpture for her award winning garden entry to Ellerslie International Flower Show, 2012.

The sculpture in Takaka Black Marble and titled 'Una Legge di Natura', ( A law of Nature) is based around the concept that nature is the predominant force in our world. In spite of our attempts to control, manipulate and over-rule the principals of nature, it will always regain the upper hand. The analogy in this piece becomes obvious with the central core of the piece representing mankind and human endeavour and the 'ribbon' as nature itself, wrapping around us in a gesture which is both nurturing but controlling, pastoral yet powerful, dominant yet protecting, destructive whilst awe-inspiring.

Thanks to Paul @ PlugDesign dot co dot nz

I wanted to say a brief but heartfelt thanks to Paul Walsh at Plug Design for creating this website for me.  He thoroughly absorbed my brief and has worked responsively, patiently and diligently to create the site I have wanted for ages, even contending graciously with my mistakes and interference.

Paul is also a talented artist himself in a totally different style and it is a credit to his ability and professionalism that he can produce in my site something so diametrically opposite to his own creative direction.  He is proactive in his suggestions and ideas and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone contemplating a Content Management System (CMS) website.

Thanks Paul.
